EskieMama Reads Review: Double Review A SEAL's Vow by Cora Seton

A SEAL's Vow by Cora Seton

Navy SEAL Clay Pickett needs a wife, fast, or he’ll lose the model sustainable community he and his friends came home to Chance Creek to build. He’s got just the woman for the job in mind: sexy, sensitive Nora Ridgeway. Too bad she’s not interested in rushing to the altar.

When Nora leaves her job as a school teacher to open a Jane Austen Bed and Breakfast with her friends—and finally get a chance to write her novel—she’s relieved to escape the escalating threats of violence from an unknown student stalker, and more than a little interested in the Navy SEAL who’s after her heart. But when trouble starts stalking her at Chance Creek, Nora begins to wonder if she’s left her past behind after all.

Can Clay and Nora find a way to be together when everything is trying to tear them apart?

When you start a book, do you already have the whole story in your head or is it built progressively? Of course I have the story in my head. Anyone who hasn’t planned the story before they start writing is an amateur, and not taking this seriously. Plans change as you go along, but you’d better have a very good sense of where you’re going, how you’re going to get your effects, cliffhangers etc. It’s about delivering something to the reader, not just indulging your own whims.
When and why did you begin writing? I’ve always written, ever since school. It never occurred to me not to.
When did you first consider yourself a writer? I was a journalist for years before I wrote a book, so as soon as I started getting paid for that I was a writer. Stephen King says that you can call yourself a writer if you publish a story and get paid for it, and you use that money to pay a bill. That sounds about to right to me. Plus, Sandra still won’t trust him—what if it’s all an act, research for the role? As the lines between make-believe and reality blur, Ben will have to decide if love is worth casting aside the role of his life for a new role…that could last a lifetime.

Previously released as The Role of a L…

Texas Ranger Bryce Johnson. Kylie Scott, two great characters. Bryce promised Kylie he would take care of her, protect her. And dang it if he did not.
The book had a great story line, fast paced to the point that I could not put it down, because I needed to kno…

EskieMama Reads Review: Better To Have Loved by Christy Nicholas

Better To Have Loved by Christy Nicholas

Julie was on an adventure. But when she found herself alone and pregnant in a foreign country, she needed to make some hard decisions.

Based on the true story of my parents' love, this was the story that inspired me to start writing novels.

Review:                              5 Stars

Am trying to find words to describe this book and how it made me feel. This is the story of Julie, Kirsten and Paul. This truly is unlike any story I have read before. A gentle story spanning decades as told by Julie. Her adventures and her love took me down a gentle flowing river, through her memories and then also through her daughter now a grown woman herself.
Her life trip took us from the States to Europe and back to the states, the ending was as sweet as a summer peach and made me glad to have read the book.

I received a free copy in exchange for my honest review!
